Writing is heaven and writing is hell! I've been to both and back and assist others to do the same. Amidst the joy of writing is a labyrinth of psychological and practical hurdles that must be overcome to create effective communication and self-satisfaction.
I work with writers at all levels, ranging from assisting authors in manifesting their dream book from a blank page or evaluating/ organizing manuscripts-in-process, to students struggling with the grind of academic papers, to individuals who long to write for their own pleasure and exploration. Writing groups also available.
Mariana Caplan is a free lance writer and writing consultant in the Bay Area. She is the author of six books, including: Do You Need a Guru: Understanding the Student-Teacher Relationship in an Era of False Prophets, Halfway Up the Mountain, and The Way of Failure, as well as a frequent contributor to a variety of magazines and journals. She has worked as a "Book Doctor" and led writing groups for over 8 years.
